Interior of the 1977 Town Hall Hôtel de Ville de Gennevilliers, Île-de-France, a suburb of Paris.

The architect was Georges Auzolle who it is noted played a role in the creation of interwar years Bobigny (1933) and Gennevilliers (1937), in a region that changed from a rural backwater in 1840 to industrialised in waves, with some highly significant interruptions, such as the Great Depression and WW2 and then as we know, full speed ahead after that.

The question here is are there two generations of Auzolle involved? Is it the same man involved in the 1930s and in 1977? UPDATE in comments!

In prime position in Stratford upon Avon on a High

In prime position in Stratford upon Avon on a High street which has more or less given itself over to mass tourism, is the splendid, listed, Barclays Bank building. Originally known as Market House, it features a 1640 building refronted in 1821 converted to a bank in 1908. Its style, its elegance presages some of the great architectural developments of the modernist movement.
