Wolff House by John Lautner for interior designer

Wolff House by John Lautner for interior designer and concert pianist Marco Wolff, who was a friend of Arthur Elrod who Lautner had already built a magnificent home for. Tucked away in the Hollywood Hills on a windy road it blends in perfectly with (what’s left of:) natural surroundings, a wonderful example of organic architecture. A hat tip to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater by his former pupil - it was Wolff who requested John Lautner approach the design with this in mind as he had purchased a ‘vertical lot’ which perfectly suited the concept. We’re often familiar with Lautner homes as they are used in films - however this one hasn’t featured anywhere, regardless that it’s owner until very recently was Director Joachim Rønning and his wife Amanda Hearst, one of William Randolph Hearst’s great grand daughters.
