Once the CBR cement company’s HQ in Brussels (1967–70), this striking complex was designed by Constantin Brodzki with Marcel Lambrichs. Brodzki, fresh from an internship with Oscar Niemeyer and work on the UN HQ in New York, returned to Belgium at a time when projects of that scale simply didn’t exist. His first big break came with a pavilion at Expo 58 — and he never looked back.

The CBR building was conceived as a total design: architecture, interiors, and furnishings all seamlessly integrated. Florence Knoll provided the furniture, Jules Wabbes* designed the interiors, and René Pechère shaped the landscape.
