Nicholas Hawksmoor worked alongside Christopher Wren and Vanbrugh and had a hand in the creation of St Paul’s Cathedral and Castle Howard (think Bridgerton). The Great Fire of London, 1666, saw Hawksmoor emerge as ‘architect of some of the most powerful creative and enigmatic buildings London has ever known’.
This wonderful map by Blue Crow Media which fits in a pocket and joy of joy means you don’t have to think about wifi, gives you yet another excuse to explore Hawksmoor’s London.
As well as a functioning map it also makes an excellent poster.
Introduction written by Owen Hopkins and original photography by Nigel Green.
