John Claridge — New York in the 70s
British photographer known for his images of the East End where he was born and Soho in London’s West End where he lived, above Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club. The Association of Photographers included Claridge in its 50th-anniversary celebration of the most respected photographers in the world in 2018. His iconic series of photos, The French, document customers of one of Soho’s best known watering holes. His images sit in the collections of the V&A, MoMA and the National Portrait Gallery.
This series was taken in New York and capture the mood of a city in transition.
