Ron Arad Holon Design Museum

Ron Arad

Ron Arad, architect, furniture and industrial designer was born in Tel Aviv Israel in 1951. He studied at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and the Architectural Association in London. He is a Royal Academician of the Royal Academy of Arts and received the London Design Week Medal in 2011.

Arad has been a visiting professor at the Vienna University of Technology and is a Professor of Furniture Design and Industrial Design at the Royal College of Arts in London

Together with Caroline Thorman he founded One Off a London design agency in 1981. He went on to form Ron Arad Associates in 1989, Ron Arad Studio in 1994 in Como Italy and in 2008 Ron Arad Architects with Caroline Thorman and Asa Bruno.

Amongst his public buildings is the dazzling Design Museum Holon, Israel created from ribbons of curved corten steel.
