Amerika Gedenk Bibliothek, the American Memorial Library, Berlin

Today a major public library and one of the biggest in Germany, the building was funded by a gift from the American government to West Berlin for withstanding the Berlin blockade. Considered one of a series of important symbols of West Berlin, the ‘Showcase of the West.’
